Unlike the purchase of properties in the course of construction, in this type of purchase the ownership of the land is acquired before any building work is carried out. There are two separate agreements, one for the purchase of the land and one for the construction. The two should however be related, for example the building contract should be made subject to the purchase of the land. Both contracts and associated documentation should be carefully examined prior to signature.
